{"id":541,"date":"2012-03-18T13:26:44","date_gmt":"2012-03-18T20:26:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sdbgdocents.org\/?page_id=541"},"modified":"2012-03-18T13:48:23","modified_gmt":"2012-03-18T20:48:23","slug":"541-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/sdbgdocents.org\/?page_id=541","title":{"rendered":"Seeds of Wonder Special Events Coordinator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.printfriendly.com\/printfriendly.js\"><\/script><a class=\"printfriendly\" style=\"color: #6d9f00; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"Printer Friendly and PDF\" onclick=\"window.print(); return false;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.printfriendly.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none;\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.printfriendly.com\/pf-button.gif\" alt=\"Print Friendly and PDF\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h1>Seeds of Wonder Special Events Coordinator<\/h1>\n<h2>General Description<\/h2>\n<p>Plan and implement special events for parents and children, to be held in and around SDBG Seeds of Wonder Children\u2019s Garden.<\/p>\n<h2>Duties:<\/h2>\n<p>1.\u00a0Work with SDBG\u2019s Director of\u00a0 Operations to determine dates, times, and fees for special events.<br \/>\n2.\u00a0Coordinate special events with SDBG\u2019s master calendar.<br \/>\n3.\u00a0Work with staff\u00a0 in the development of fliers, press releases, and Quail Tracks announcements to publicize Seeds of Wonder special events.<br \/>\n4.\u00a0Recruit a committee of docents and volunteers to plan each event.<br \/>\n5.\u00a0The plan for a special event will include:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">a.\u00a0Theme for the special event<br \/>\nb.\u00a0Date and time<br \/>\nc.\u00a0Location<br \/>\nd.\u00a0Number of children and adults to be accommodated<br \/>\ne.\u00a0Fee to be charged<br \/>\nf.\u00a0Activities to be offered<br \/>\ng.\u00a0A printed schedule of events to be given to participants on the day of the event<br \/>\nh.\u00a0A rainy day plan<br \/>\ni.\u00a0How the event will be advertised<br \/>\nj.\u00a0A list of\u00a0 necessary materials to be used for activities<br \/>\nk.\u00a0A list of\u00a0 tables, chairs, and other equipment needed<br \/>\nl.\u00a0A list of docents and volunteers who will work at the event<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0Ask for donations of materials needed.<br \/>\n7.\u00a0Plan a budget for the event and purchase necessary materials to be used for activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">a.\u00a0After the event, submit receipts to QBG accountant.<br \/>\nb.\u00a0Reimbursement will come from event fees<\/p>\n<p>8.\u00a0Several days before the event, submit to Director of Operations a list of equipment needed and where it should be placed.\u00a0 Gardeners will place tables, chairs, etc.<br \/>\n9.\u00a0Work with Administrative Assistant to develop a final list of people who have registered, to be used by the Greeter as people check in on the day of the event.<br \/>\n10.\u00a0The day before the event, meet with committee for final preparations.<br \/>\n11.\u00a0On the day of the event, have docents and volunteers come early to set up activities.\u00a0 Special Events Coordinator implements schedule and oversees all activities.<\/p>\n<h2>Specific Skills:<\/h2>\n<p>1.\u00a0Computer skills, specifically email, a must<br \/>\n2.\u00a0Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization<br \/>\n3.\u00a0Organization a must<br \/>\nTime Required<br \/>\nApproximately ____ hours per month<\/p>\n<h2>Recommended Term:<\/h2>\n<p>Two or more years:<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a01st year:\u00a0 learn the job, write\/update procedures to make the job easier for the next year<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a02nd year:\u00a0 perform the job, determine whether you want continue for another year.\u00a0 If not, recruit and train a replacement.<\/p>\n<p>Revised<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seeds of Wonder Special Events Coordinator General Description Plan and implement special events for parents and children, to be held in and around SDBG Seeds of Wonder Children\u2019s Garden.
