Cart Driver (13 and 6-8 Passenger Shuttles)

General Description:

Under the direction of the Operations Department, the Cart Driver is responsible for shuttling guests safely on a predesignated route during SDBG events.

Duties:

1. Check in and out by radioing Manager on Duty.
2. Shuttle visitors safely during SDBG events.
3. SDBG “Ambassador” while shuttling visitors to designated destination(s).
4. Adhere to all items on the Passenger Shuttle Driving Check-Off List while operating the shuttle (see Attachment A)

Specific Skills:

1. Must be trained to drive a Passenger Shuttle by an authorized SDBG staff member.
2. General knowledge of the operation of the Passenger shuttle
3. Must have a valid California driver’s license
4. Must be a current SDBG volunteer/docent
5. Must have an understanding of the rules, regulations, and shuttle routes throughout the Garden.
6. Must know how to use a radio and have one at all times while a driving shuttle.

Time Required:

Time required as indicated for a particular shift.
