Gift Cart Coordinator

General Description:

In charge of buying merchandise, inventory and selling merchandise for the gift cart.  Keeping the cart stocked and open at appropriate times.  Training other volunteers to operate the cash register.

Duties:

  1. Select appropriate merchandise to sell at the gift cart
  2. Keep track of when merchandise comes in and sells by using the data base in the office
  3. Inventory each year
  4. Staff the Gift Cart on Free Tuesdays, and other days the Seeds of Wonder or Children’s Garden open with programs
  5. Report any problems to Pat or Sergio for repair.
  6. Train staff on use of the cash register and operation of the Gift Cart

Helpful Hints:

Sue Papreck did this job and might be a valuable asset for answering questions or giving advice.

Time Required:

5-10 hours per week if you staff the cart yourself.  Other 3 hrs per wee to complete the inventory control needed to input the information in the computer or restock the cart.  More time needed during the order times, if you go to the gifts shows or order from catalogs.  And time to unpack items and price and record on the computer.
