Docent Hours Recorder
General description:
The Docent Hours Recorder updates, maintains and communicates docent hours for the purposes of San Diego Botanic Garden reporting and docent milestone
incentive awards.
Duties:
-
- Obtain reported docent hours from available sources.
- Record the hours in the designated recording document.
- Identify achievement of docent milestones.
- Prepare/obtain appropriate awards for milestones achieved.
- Prepare monthly ‘Docent and Volunteer Milestone and Upcoming Events’ sheet and e-mail a copy to the Docent Chair and Volunteer Hours Recorder.
- Add newly qualified docents to hours recording document as notified by Docent Training Coordinator.
- Encourage docents to submit hours regularly – email reminders
- Attend monthly General Meeting
- At the end of term, prepare and email position materials to the newly designated Docent Hours Recorder.
Specific Skills:-
- Solid working knowledge of standard computer applications including email, spreadsheets and word processing
- Highly organized and able to meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented
- Diplomacy and tact
- Should have attended DIT class and become a Docent
- Helps to know who docents are
Time required:
10 to 15 hours a month
Recommended Term:
2 years minimum
