Propagation Coordinator

General Description:

Work under the direction of the Horticulture Dept. to propagate plants, refurbish donated plants for

1. Retail sale
2. New garden development
3. Replacement or addition to existing gardens.

 

Duties:

1. Assure that propagation area is maintained in a safe, orderly, efficient manner.
2. Direct and assist volunteers in the workings of the dept.
3. Maintain growing areas

Specific Skills:

1. General knowledge of plant production/growth helpful.
2. Ability to manage and direct volunteers.
3. Ability to do moderate physical labor.

Helpful Hints:

Maintaining the propagation area in a tidy, organized fashion makes for a more efficient, enjoyable work environment.  This is a constant challenge and volunteers should be directed to help keep things clean and orderly.
Time Required:
Minimum 3 hours/ week, 6 hours preferred

Recommended Term:

2 year minimum
